Known for its salmon-pink-to-reddish heartwood and dark but subtle wavy streaks known as "gum pockets," Cherry adds a warmth and elegance to interior spaces that is unique unto itself. Cherry's most remarkable quality, though, is its development of a deep, rich patina over time. Cherry is not an exceptionally dense hardwood and not always the best choice for high-traffic areas.
